We Picked 8 Pounds of Blueberries

Today we took a lunch break and headed over to Cora's Crop to pick some fresh blueberries.

We each grabbed a small bucket and headed out. (Buck a pound!)

We came back with about 8 pounds. We'll freeze some for smoothies and eat some over the next day or so.

After the blueberry farm we headed over to the Owen Roe winery, right across the street from where we're staying at Champoeg Park. I called this morning to see if we could get a tasting appointment today sometime and they had an opening at 1pm.

They don't have a formal tasting room here, but it's nice hanging out in the cool room with the barrels chatting with the employees as you taste. We brought home a couple of bottles and joined the wine club (since it's close and we're here often). (Also, our friends Scott and Cyle are members, so maybe we'll get to see them at events! Hi guys!) Our favorite of what we tasted we think was the 2010 Red Willow Vineyard. Also, the 2011 Union Gap Syrah. Good stuff.
