Quick Trip to Central Oregon

Bluestream

We went and got the Airstream this afternoon and headed out! We're going to meet up with Tiffani and Deke tomorrow (in the Painted Hills/John Day Fossil Beds area) as they make their way to the other side of the country. That flight to Orcas was great, but we're super excited to get to spend a bit more time with them!

We'll spend tonight at Detroit Lake and then head out in the morning to see if we can snag a couple of cool spots somewhere near the pretty stuff. It's rainy here, but it's lovely and quiet. An hour ago there were 4 geese, 16 goslings, and one duck wandering around our campsite scroungin' for dinner. Cute!!

  1. Oh, the road to Tofino is outrageous, and the river rushing next to it is worth stopping to check out all the swirl pools. Is the biker sushi hotel still going in Tofino? Cool place or it was. There is still organized ecological struggle going on there, check out friends of Clayoquot Sound. I was there one and camped in Pacific rim park… two days of pouring rain and one day of warm sunny glory. Forever burned into my soul.

  2. Super envious that you got a ride in the 31′ Ranger Tug! Ranger Tugs have been among my favorite boats for a very long time. I have been aboard all of them before at boat shows, but never had the opportunity to go out on one. Very cool!
