This morning we got up early and worked until about 11:30am and then left St. Louis and headed for Kansas City (KS/MO). We stopped at a rest stop about halfway through the drive and made some lunch (Tom Yum soup with mushrooms, chicken, cilantro, lime, jalapeno), worked for a bit, and changed drivers. This brilliant timing got us into Kansas City right at rush hour.
Now, we're headed out to grab some dinner and do some shopping (Whole Foods!). Looks like Kansas City also has a Trader Joe's, too. Finally!

Being in The Middle really makes you appreciate those TJ’s and Whole Foods, doesn’t it? (And Wells Fargo — OMG, try depositing paychecks if they’re your bank, and their mobile app has a $1K daily limit!). We’re in Lexington right now, and I was so excited about both a TJs AND a Whole Foods! The Whole Foods had the tiniest produce section I’ve ever seen, ever. But, I’ll count my blessings! (Just waiting until we get to Asheville, where I can actually deposit money! I had no idea Wells Fargo was just an “around the edges” thing!).
I can’t believe we were this close to crossing paths!! 🙁 LOVE Asheville!
