We found this raft down the beach a ways, likely a raft built and used by Cubans escaping to the Florida Keys. Styrofoam, covered in tarps and plastic bags, with a metal frame and a tiller/rudder that looked like it was made out of a road sign.
I wonder if your little critter is a skink. Reminds me of Carl Hiassen’s books. Have you tried one? Could be a good time to read something of his, like maybe Nature Girl. S.
