It does a crazy, good job heating. The bad thing about having one of the very, shiny Airstreams is that you’re more hesitant to take it into the snow (and more specifically) DE-ICER!!!… which etches into the shiny finish, if left on the trailer for any period of time. I would LOVE to have a property that I could use my Airstream as a guest house. We do sleep in it in the street, in front of our house, every now and then. PS: glad you made it to Champoeg for a few days 🙂

We brought a little electric heater with us this time since we’re plugged in (free heat!!) and it’s quiet and really warms the place up nice. I love it too!!

Our hose froze every night, so we just unhooked and drained it at bedtime, and waited for it thaw in the AM. We add a layer of fleece between the curtains and single pane windows, to insulate a bit more at night. We also cover the floor in rugs. We have a warm mode on our AC, which runs and masks the loudness of the propane heater turning-on, through-out the night. It’s warm and cozy. I completely love it!

We are at champoeg now and it’s cold and rainy and cozy and great. 🙂 The coast is lovely when it’s stormy, too. Let’s meet up and do some winter’ camping!

Sat, 12 Nov 2011 00:59:51 +0000http://www.riveted-blog.com/using-youur-airstream-as-a-guest-house#comment-1071We are thinking about using our little trailer as a guest house…we’ll let our guests sleep inside and we’ll sleep out here 🙂 I’m so missing going camping right now and find myself sitting out here several times a week! Planning on shopping for some cute Christmas decorations tomorrow! Hope you’ll post your photos…can’t wait to take some myself!
Was wondering if you guys really go out much during the winter. We’re hoping to. We haven’t winterized it yet thinking that we’ll take it out over the week of Thanksgiving..even if it’s just at Champoeg or in the Gorge. Saw that Monica from j5mm takes hers out in the snow…think that would be wonderful fun!
