So awesome! And YES!! WE would love to meet you guys up there. It would be so fun. Safe travels home! I hope I get to see you soon. xo
]]>Thank you Steph!!! That canoe may HAVE been in Knudson Cove. It’s a new one, designed by Marvin Oliver (his work/gallery is the Eagle Arts Gallery, on Creek St. next to Coho Soho). When we were in there a few months ago, his son was telling us about this project, making traditionally designed canoes out of more high tech materials (composite, rather than wood). It was across from us last week in Thomas Basin in Ketchikan and I thought “Hey! I wonder if that’s a Marvin Oliver canoe!” and then when (surprisingly) we saw it arrive in Kasaan and the leader of the clan announced their clan and where they came from, she also said their canoe was designed by Marvin Oliver….so anyway…yes, small world! I can’t believe Geoff will be over in Kasaan Bay next week, and we’re back in Ketchikan. Next summer we need to try to actually be in the same place at the same time, don’t you think??? 🙂 Much love to you guys and hope to see you when we’re back.
