I processed them a little bit, but not much actually. It’s just THIS pretty in Oregon. 🙂
]]>Glad I helped!
]]>Saw the bike ride post – good thing you got back before the rain! We nearly floated away on the freeway this afternoon.
]]>I’m thinking about your question. Without knowing you or more about what you want (you’re right, there are so many great options on the coast!), I’ll give you my picks.
(1) We’d recommend Bullards Beach S.P. because it’s close to Bandon and we love Bandon (best fish & chips, a good fish taco place next door, fresh seafood, shops, cute waterfront, etc.). Bullards has a great beach and old lighthouse and good trails.
(2) More north is Sea Perch near Yachats and it’s great because it’s right on the beach if you get a waterfront spot. They’re super nice there, too. Yachats is cute…good tidepooling at Strawberry Hill up the coast a bit, and just gorgeous scenery around there. Not too far is the Sealion Caves, too…which is cool, and the Heceta Head lighthouse (very scenic).
(3) More North we like Nehalem Bay State Park, in Manzanita. Manzanita is a great little town, good grocery store, cute cafes, really nice beach. The beach is just over a dune or two from the campground and you can hear the ocean most of the time.
Beverly Beach is good too. There’s a trail to the beach, and hiking trails along the creek if I remember right. It’s close to Newport (tons to do there so that’s a plus). The aquarium is cool…the waterfront/fishing/marina area is nice as well…so you can’t go wrong with any of these, really.
Did I help or just confuse the issue?? 🙂
]]>We’re going to spend a week or so in Oregon this summer, and figured you’d be good ones to ask – if you had 3 days to spend at any one campground near the beach, which would you pick? There are so many options that I’m totally overwhelmed. We do have reservations at Beverly Beach, but I’m not entirely sold on it. Sea Perch? After the coast, our plan is Silver Falls for 3 days, and then Crater Lake before we head home.
I’m not sure I’ve ever commented before, but we have a 30′ FC bunkhouse, and have been reading your blog for years. So, hi!
