Fresh crab, some more fresh crab, and it's my birthday!

Long Beach, Nahcotta, Oysterville

This afternoon we went for a drive up to the end of the peninsula...or as far toward the end as we could get. We ended up at Leadbetter Point State Park just past Oysterville. There's not much there but a parking lot and one trail that leads to Leadbetter Point on the Willapa Bay (looked like a short trail, but it was totally flooded and we left our rain boots at the trailer). We drove through Oysterville past the mountains of oyster shells, and past the old Ark Restaurant. Oysterville is a super cute little town...really green and lush, with tons of historic buildings and homes. Here some more info about Oysterville, including a self-guided walking tour...for when it's not stormy and raining the whole time.

We left Oysterville and stopped at the Dunes Restaurant in Ocean Park and got a bowl of clam chowder to tide us over until dinner. Good chowder! Then we decided to drive home via the beach route.

Driving on the beach does not get old. :)
