I haven’t seen or read about a different one that I’d buy, but I haven’t researched it much. I am not unhappy with the Hopkins, but I think it leaves some room for improvement. The user interface is unintuitive at best, and the system seems slightly flaky. Plus, for our use with a pretty typical pickup-towing-airstream setup we needed the extra-cost (and extra wiring and installation) range extender.

It works and it isn’t bad, it just isn’t awesome.

Kevin

We’ve also experienced one complete blow-out on I-5 and realized something seemed to have happened, but the trailer drove per normal, without the tire (as we also have dual axels). A HWY patrolman who stopped said our tire was a mile or two back.

We also stopped to assist an Airstreamer between Palm Springs and Pheonix on the HWY who said it was a very dicey experience having a tire blow-out on a single axle.

Cool gadget advice, as usual…THX
